2 MWp Solar PV Plant, Burkina Faso

JIVO Energy has been engaged in the Diapaga 2 MWp Solar Photovoltaic Project in Burkina Faso since 2022, under a turnkey contract for the construction of a 2 MWp photovoltaic solar power plant, including one year of Operations & Maintenance (O&M). Due to security challenges in the region have kept the project on hold. Finally, discussions are ongoing to relocate the project to a safer zone, with preliminary studies pointing to Ziga as the opted location, involving ground-mounted solar panels, associated substation infrastructure, and connection to the national grid managed by SONABEL.
The Diapaga solar PV project in Burkina Faso is part of the Yeleen Solar Program, a national initiative to increase solar power generation and grid-connected electricity access, supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and the European Union.
